It has good wear resistance and a tensile strength of roughly 700–850 MPa. 420 offers adequate resistance in mild environments and fresh water, despite being less corrosion-resistant than austenitic grades. In addition, the material is magnetic and has good ductility when annealed. It works well for precise applications that call for hardness and mechanical strength.
