Stainless Steel 347/347H has 17–20% chromium and 9–13% nickel with niobium (columbium) stabilization to resist intergranular corrosion when exposed to welding and elevated temperatures. The 347H version has a greater carbon composition (0.04–0.10%) for increased creep properties. The two grades have tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and yield strength of 205–275 MPa. Electropolishing increases corrosion resistance, eliminates micro-imperfections, and provides a mirror finish, which makes these pipes suitable for sterile and precision applications. The tubing is still strong, weldable, and extremely durable even in aggressive chemical and thermal conditions.
