Iron, 24–26% chromium, and 19–22% nickel make up the majority of stainless steel 310H ERW pipes. To improve creep resistance and high-temperature strength, the carbon content is raised to 0.04–0.10%. Manganese, silicon, and phosphorus are added in trace amounts to the alloy. Excellent mechanical qualities are provided by these ERW pipes, including a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of about 40%. They are suitable for continuous service in harsh thermal environments due to their exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling at temperatures up to 1100°C, which is provided by their high chromium and nickel content.
