Approximately 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel make up the austenitic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 309 Tubing. At temperatures as high as 1035°C, its composition provides exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling. SS 309 has a yield strength of about 205 MPa and a tensile strength of about 520 MPa. Under extreme heat stress, it also retains good ductility, toughness, and creep resistance.
