Duplex Steel Pipes contain about 22–25% of chromium, 4–7% of nickel, 3% of molybdenum, and iron (balance), with minute amounts of nitrogen and manganese. Such pipes have high tensile strength (620–900 MPa), yield strength of about 450–550 MPa, and elongation of 25–35%. Duplex steel offers double the strength of normal austenitic stainless steels, with superior pitting, crevice corrosion, as well as chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking resistance, making them suitable for rough and corrosive environments.
