The typical composition of duplex steel boiler tubing is 21–23% chromium, 4.5–6.5% nickel, 2.5–3.5% molybdenum, 0.14–0.20% nitrogen, and the remaining iron. This composition offers outstanding resistance to high-temperature oxidation and corrosion, as well as tensile strength of about 620 MPa and yield strength of about 450 MPa. In addition to having good weldability, the duplex microstructure provides high toughness and dimensional stability under cyclic heating and cooling. Duplex steel boiler tubing’s mechanical qualities, such as its resistance to corrosion and thermal fatigue, make it extremely dependable in managing the demanding conditions of boiler tubes.
