These alloys are made up of aluminium (more than 95%), traces of elements like manganese, magnesium, silicon, and copper to provide increased strength and corrosion resistance. Welded tubing has moderate to high tensile strength (in 6061 up to 310 MPa), good elongation, and superior corrosion resistance. These tubes are heat-treatable or non-heat treatable based on the alloy and are appropriate for welding and cold-forming operations.
