Aluminium 7075 Pipes consist mainly of aluminium (around 87.1–91.4%) with the major alloying components being zinc (5.1–6.1%), magnesium (2.1–2.9%), and copper (1.2–2.0%). These pipes are renowned for their high strength, providing a tensile strength of as much as 570 MPa and a yield strength of around 500 MPa in the T6 temper. Although they are strong, they are still light in weight and provide moderate corrosion resistance. It has good fatigue strength and fair machinability and hence is used in high-performance applications where weight-to-strength ratio is a consideration.
