Alloy Steel P91 Pipes are made with mainly chromium (8-9.5%), molybdenum (0.85-1.05%), and vanadium (0.18-0.25%), with small amounts of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. The above composition provides superior strength and resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures. The pipes have high tensile strength (minimum 585 MPa), yield strength (minimum 415 MPa), and elongation of 20% minimum. With excellent creep strength and hardness, P91 is an ideal material to be used for applications in high-temperature conditions like steam pipes and pressure vessels with the aim of achieving long life in service and effective operation.
