Alloy Steel P1 Pipes consist mainly of Molybdenum (0.44–0.65%) and Chromium (0.50–0.80%), along with Carbon (≤0.15%), Manganese (0.30–0.80%), Phosphorus (≤0.025%), and Sulfur (≤0.025%). The pipes have good mechanical strength with a minimum tensile strength of 380 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 30%. The molybdenum content in the alloy increases its strength and resistance to wear, oxidation, and creep at high temperatures, and thus P1 pipes are most suitable for elevated temperature service in pressure systems.
