Stainless Steel 347/347H is 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel and columbium (niobium) stabilized to avoid carbide precipitation. The 347H version has an increase in carbon content (0.04–0.10%) to improve high-temperature strength. Both have tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and yield strength of approximately 205–275 MPa, based on the condition. They have mechanical properties at elevated temperatures and have good oxidation resistance. The tubing is of good formability, weldability, and creep strength and can be used in challenging instrumentation systems in harsh operating conditions.
