The typical composition of Duplex Steel Welded Tubing is Iron (balance), Nickel (4.5–6.5%), Molybdenum (2.5–3.5%), Chromium (21–23%), and Nitrogen (~0.14–0.20%). Superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion caused by chloride is provided by this composition. Mechanical characteristics include a yield strength of approximately 450 MPa and a tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa, which are almost twice as high as those of typical austenitic stainless steels like 304 or 316. For corrosion resistance and structural integrity under demanding service conditions, the welded structure provides good dimensional accuracy and, if required, can be post-weld heat treated.
